What motivated the main character was to fight bad guys to protect his family, and the citizens of the city from evil. Some people might ask me about the art and I would say that it was okay but I will admit that it is pretty cute. The most memorable scene is when Cat Ninja is fighting bad guys outside the house while the kids are talking and they don’t even notice. I first discovered it at school through Epic. Fans of Dog Man should enjoy this series as well. Writer Matthew Cody and artist Yehudi Mercado give human traits to animals, which I learned is called anthropomorphic. I lost interest.This is one of my favorite kids book series. I think there will be plenty of readers who will stay engaged the whole way through. And others more drudgery? Though I think that is 100% subjective. I thought some chapters were delightful and fun. I had different reactions to each chapter. The book contains several 'chapters' of adventures. So what will happen when their dad buys a dog? Squeaks is EVIL Master Hamster, and Claude is battling evil as as Cat Ninja. Squeaks and Claude, have secret identities.
